March 24, 2020It has been a while since we have updated the website. We had a great harvest in November. We picked 7,500 pounds of olives over 4 days and got 120 gallons of oil. The oil has been certified extra virgin by the California Olive oil Counsel. We won a Silver Medal at the California State Fair. Here are some pictures of our harvest Because of the steepness our our olive orchard much of the harvest is done using Infaco battery operated olives rakes. The olives are raked into nets and then loaded into 5 gallon buckets and taken to the cleaning table. Here is a picture of the rakes in action. After the olives are picked we clean all of the leaves, branches and dirt that has been picked up from the nets. In the video below you can see the actual cleaning process.
November 22, 2018Happy Thanksgiving! We just finished our 2018 harvest. We brought 4,700 pounds to Olivino and they turned the olives into 112 gallons of olive oil. This is our highest total volume of olive oil! We can’t wait to taste a little next week. We will be bottling at the end of December and have the new olive oil available for sale mid January. This is where the leaves and MOO ( Material other than Olives) are removed before they go into the bins. Removing leaves and other stuff helps to make sure that the olive oil tastes as pure as possible. July 16, 2018 The three farmers markets that we participate in are very active. Here are some pictures from Ft Bragg, Mendocino and Albion.

We are very excited that our oil was so well received. This was our first year to enter.

We harvested this years olives on November 8th. We had a harvest crew of 10 workers and 7 family members. We started at 8 am and finished at 5 pm. We harvested 2,178 pounds of olives. The olives were driven to Olivin0 in Hopland, about an hour from the orchard. We arrived at 6:45 and the olives were immediately put in the hopper for cleaning. The olives were processed into oil in about 2 hours. We had a best olive oil production this year with 45 gallons. The oil has a very nice fresh grassy flavor with a peppery tickle at the back of the throat. So say that the best olive oil causes you to cough three times from the pepper.
